About FinanceGuides.ca
Hi, I'm Irene (or Hustle Girly, whatever you prefer).
I built this website as a safe space to learn about money and investing—a space made by a female investor, with female investors in mind. That being said, this knowledge will help anyone who wants to take the time to read. You'll find interactive guides, tools, and easy-to-digest content.
The Story Behind This Site
I've been interested in personal finance since I took over my bank account at 14. Over the years, I learned the basics, started investing, and thought I had a handle on things.
Then one day, I called the bank to speak with my investment manager about making some moves and doing things my way. Instead, I got his assistant. I explained what I wanted to do, and he told me to wait and speak with my manager.
Then came the line that stuck with me—so condescending it still makes me angry:
"Do you even know what a bond is?"
That moment struck a nerve. Years later, I'm finally doing something about it. That's when I said: Enough. No woman will feel stupid or talked down to about financial knowledge if I can help it.
So this site was born.
